NYI Photo View 2.0
NYI is pleased to announce that NYI Photo View, our official podcast site, found at nyipodcast.com, has recently undergone a full makeover. As a part of this upgrade we have also released several new episodes that are filled with information that will help interested photographers improve their skills, select new equipment, and look at photographs in a new light. We hope that these changes will make it easier for photographers to benefit from the extensive information on our site. These changes include a search feature that allows visitors to search previous posts by category. You'll also find an index of our most recent posts, and a list of categories you can click on to find the topics that interest you most. At NYI, we're always listening to our students' feedback to provide the best possible student experience. That's why we're now including more student work than ever before in our podcasts. Recently, we've held regular Photo Challenges on the NYI Photo Forum (forum.nyip.com). Some of our newest podcasts feature winning submissions from our Photo Challenges, including dog photographs, portraits, and macro photography. As you listen to our faculty members discuss these outstanding photographs you'll gain insight into the ways that successful professionals view and evaluate photographs. For the social web-savvy crowd, we've also added a ShareThis widget for each article. This means that if you find an article you like and want to share with others, you can simply click the link in the widget, add in your desired email address, and click the Share button. Or, if you prefer, you can now share the link on social networks like Facebook and Twitter. We've also begun including Photo Slideshows on many of our new podcasts. You'll find these on the Photo Challenge Review episodes. These "podcasts with pictures" will allow you to follow along as our team of experts discuss the nuances of a wide variety of photographs. Since our new podcasts are now more focused on image content, we wanted to make it easy to view the photos being discussed. You can still view the images by themselves, and you can download the mp3 files — nothing has changed in that respect. However, please note that we're still doing some minor tweaks to the Audio Slideshow player. We consider this to be a "Beta" testing period, so, if you find any problems or can't get the player to run, please shoot us an email at . Our goal in the redesign of our podcast site was to make it easier for visitors to navigate the site; and we are interested in your feedback. As always, if you have any suggestions about how we can further improve the site, you are encouraged to share them with us. Enjoy the new site! |
